Description
Chamomile Roman Essential Oil (Anthemis nobilis) distilled flower oil
Chamomile Roman Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowers of the chamomile plant. It has a wonderful sweet, fruity scent with floral tones.
The colour of Chamomile Roman ranges from pale yellow to blue, with a thin water-like consistency. The aroma has tea-like notes.
Chamomile Roman has calming and relaxing properties. Used for PMS and other reproductive disorders, abdominal pain or discomfort as well as for stress, tension and other mood disorders.
There are many different varieties of chamomile, and Roman Chamomile is one of the most popular essential oils for use in aromatherapy and in the wider cosmetic and beauty industry. Roman chamomile is milder and sweeter smelling than the other commonly used varieties. The gentler, milder quality of Roman chamomile makes it particularly suitable in applications for children, the elderly, and those with a weak constitution.
A few drops on a pillow are welcome at night, especially in combination with lavender. Also useful for relaxing from heightened emotions, in stressful situations and when feeling sad, angry or irritable. In skin preparations it is helpful for very sensitive and easily irritated skin types.
Widely used in Aromatherapy for its soothing properties and its ability to blend happily with other oils. It is also a common ingredient in cosmetic and skincare preparations.
