Description
Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil (Cedrus atlantica)
Our Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil is calming and soothing with a warm woody aroma.
Steam distilled from the wood of the Atlas Cedarwood tree, the colour of this oil ranges from yellow to orange to amber and it is a viscous liquid.
It has a long history of use in medicine, beauty, soap making, perfumery, and as an insect repellent. In ancient Egypt, it was part of the mummification process as it was believed it to help the journey of the afterlife. Similarly Native American tribes used it to help with digestive disorders and breathing difficulties.
Cedarwood has warming, calming and soothing properties. Therefore it is ideal to deal with exhaustion and nervous tension, along with feelings of anger or stress. Used in meditation to dispel nervous tension, anxiety, and stress. Its astringent action makes it useful for regulating the skin’s oils, and consequently it finds its way into many skin care products for oily or problem skin or in hair care products.
Enjoy Cedarwood in your diffuser, vaporiser or use it topically, diluted in a carrier oil. Considered to be masculine in character, Cedarwood is a key ingredient in many in mens skin or hair products.
