The Essence of Wellbeing Story

Essence of Wellbeing was founded in the early 2000’s by Wendy Mackay a professional accredited aromatherapist.

After gaining a degree in law, Wendy worked in the legal profession both in Australia and the UK. In London in the 1990’s Wendy developed an interest in natural therapies and in particular, aromatherapy. This led to Wendy studying at the Shirley Price International College of Aromatherapy and becoming a qualified professional aromatherapist.

In the late 1990’s Wendy and her husband David (a large souvenir from her time in the UK!) decided to move back to Australia, where Essence of Wellbeing started life as an Wendy’s aromatherapy practice. From these beginnings and through an increased demand for quality aromatherapy and natural skincare products, Essence of Wellbeing quickly became one of Australia’s premier suppliers of quality aromatherapy supplies and natural skincare products.

Utilising Wendy’s many years knowledge and experience in the field of aromatherapy and natural skincare, we source, stock, and manufacture a wonderful range of quality aromatherapy and natural skincare products.

Essence of Wellbeing is a family business, located on the lovely Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

Wendy’s philosophy is simple “if I would not use it on myself or my family, we do not stock it!”

Wendy is well known in Aromatherapy Circles and is a current member of the International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association (IAAMA*), where she has served on the National council and previously held the position of president.

Wendy is an acknowledged expert in the field of aromatherapy and natural skin care, and is regularly invited to speak at events, to students and in the media
